Your data stays on your device. ShoutMate stores all trip and expense data in your browser's local storage. We never send your trip data to any external server.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use ShoutMate (page views, feature usage). This data is anonymous and aggregated. We do not collect personally identifiable information.
Local storage
Trip data — participants, expenses, and balances — is stored only in your browser. Clearing your browser data will permanently delete all trips. We recommend using the share link to back up important trips.
Share links
When you share a trip, a short code is generated via our link-shortening service. The trip data is encoded in the URL itself — no personal information is stored on our servers beyond the short-code mapping.
Third-party services
We use Google Analytics (anonymised), Google Fonts (loaded from Google's CDN), and Cloudflare Pages for hosting. These services have their own privacy policies.
